What’s one thing almost all shoppers have in common before searching up a product?
If you guessed “look at reviews” you’re correct!
But what do you look for in a trampoline review? Who are the trusted sources?
We will use our decades of expertise at Springfree to summarise how to find verified trampoline reviews and where to look.
6 Tips for Finding the Best Trampoline Reviews
Have you ever looked at a review and been like “This sounds too good to be true”?
You’re not alone.
With all the information online nowadays, it’s hard to know what to trust.
It’s become such an issue that the New Zealand Commerce Commission (along with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) “have brought prosecutions against businesses engaging in misleading conduct in respect of online customer reviews,” according to Lane Neave.
Needless to say, knowing what to look for in a review and where to find them is crucial.
Here are 6 tips to use when navigating trampoline reviews:
1. Look for “Verified Purchasers”
Step one when looking for reviews? Make sure the reviewer is a verified purchaser.
Depending on the platform, this should be stated somewhere close to the user’s name.
Below is a verified Power review of our Springfree Trampoline.
Notice the “Verified Buyer” on the right hand side of the review:
Some trampoline brands also post reviews on their website. See an example from our Springfree Trampoline site below:
Beyond verifying that the user purchased the product, look into their reviewer profile (if possible).
How does this review compare to the user’s previous reviews?
If they write a review that’s inconsistent with their previous reviews, it’s possible the review holds less validity and shouldn’t be fully relied on.
2. Don’t Just Look at the Stars/Review Count
The first thing most of us look at when searching for a product is how many stars and reviews it has. It is important to note that, even if an item has five stars, you should also consider the number of reviews it has received. This number is indicated in brackets next to the star rating.
See the trampolines below:
But the star ratings and review counts aren’t everything.
While they can be good indicators of high-quality trampolines, the real story comes from the content of the reviews.
3. Closely Assess the Content
Which brings us to our next section.
Hearing from verified purchasers about their experiences with a product can influence your purchase.
Especially with trampolines, which are both a money and space commitment, you must look toward the review content before deciding.
Here are some pointers:
- Longer, specific reviews should be trusted over shorter, simpler reviews.
- Look for reviews with images attached, like this one from Google:
- Hear both sides. Find positive and negative reviews to weigh the pros and cons.
- Notice review patterns. See what features are consistently praised and/or criticised.
- Be aware of the language and tone being used. If the review is overly enthusiastic, it might be promotional or incentivised.
4. Note the Review Date
The date of the review should be noted for a couple of reasons:
1) If you notice an influx of reviews in a month, it could mean it was incentivized (i.e. give us a review and get entered to win a gift card). This could sway reviewers toward a more positive tone.
2) If a user leaves a review years after purchasing, it will be more valuable since they’ve had more time with the product than a new purchaser.
5. Search for Seller Responses
Don’t just focus on the buyer with trampoline reviews.
See if the seller is responding to their customer reviews, particularly the negative ones.
This can help explain any negative reviews that might be causing you hesitation before purchasing.
Here is an example from Springfree Trampoline:
6. Don’t Just Look at One Source
When looking for trampolines with the best reviews, don’t just look in one place.
Scan through different sources (see next section) to get various opinions on the product.
Where to Find Trampoline Reviews
Okay, so you know what to look for to find the best outdoor trampoline reviews.
But where do you actually find them?
Here are your main options:
- Consumer Review Websites – Power Reviews, Google, etc. You can also look at trampoline brands’ websites for verified customer reviews.
- Specialised Review Websites or Blogs – Consumer NZ, etc.
- YouTube – Many consumers post videos about their experience with a trampoline. See below for results when typing in “trampoline reviews”:
- Online Forums
Our best advice would be to use a combination of all these sources.
You can use consumer review websites to get a broad overview of trampolines.
Once you find which one you like, start diving deeper into research.
Search up the model you’re interested in and see if there are any blogs/videos testing and reviewing the product.
The more reliable sources you can visit, the better!
